Swedish engineering group Sandvik AB said Tuesday it has won a mining equipment order in Zimbabwe valued at approximately 280 million Swedish Kronor, bolstering its order book after reporting a dip in second-quarter revenue.
The order from Zimplats, the country's largest producer of platinum group metals, was booked in the third quarter of 2025, the company said.
It includes underground loaders, trucks, and drills for the Ngezi mines complex, with deliveries scheduled to run from the third quarter of 2025 through the second quarter of 2026.
Sandvik also noted the deal includes a significant aftermarket value.
“We are proud to partner with Zimplats on this significant investment in the Ngezi underground operations. This order reflects our strong commitment to providing equipment and services that help our customers achieve their productivity, safety, and sustainability targets,” said Mats Eriksson, President of business area Mining at Sandvik.
