Ericsson has finalized the sale of its iconectiv business to Koch Equity Development, completing a divestment aimed at sharpening its focus on its core telecommunications network equipment business.

The Swedish telecom giant said Friday it expects a net cash benefit of about $1 billion, or 9.9 billion Swedish Kronor, from the transaction.

The company will book a one-time gain of approximately $800 million on its earnings before interest and taxes for the third quarter of 2025.

Iconectiv, which provides services like number portability for phones and network data exchange to over 5,000 customers, was acquired by Ericsson as part of the Telcordia purchase in 2012.

It contributed around $100 million to Ericsson's net income in 2024, the company said.

The sale is part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and concentrate on the core network market.

When the agreement was first announced in August 2024, Ericsson noted that iconectiv had limited strategic synergies with the rest of its portfolio.

This move echoes past divestments, such as the 2011 sale of its stake in the Sony Ericsson mobile phone joint venture, which also aimed to concentrate resources on its primary network technology operations.

The sale comes as Ericsson continues to execute on cost-cutting programs designed to improve margins and operational efficiency.
