Wihlborgs posts record profit despite a weak economy

Swedish property company Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB reported record results for the first half of 2025, navigating a weak economic environment to post higher profit and rental income.

For the six months ended June 30, profit rose to 883 million Swedish kronor from 698 million kronor a year earlier, the company said Monday.

Rental income increased 3% to 2.14 billion kronor, while the operating surplus grew 4% to 1.54 billion kronor.

Income from property management increased 12% to 987 million kronor.

"Once again, despite a weak economy in a world characterised by geopolitical concern, Wihlborgs has delivered another strong quarter with record rental income, operating surplus and income from property management," said Chief Executive Ulrika Hallengren.

The company, which focuses on commercial properties in Sweden and Denmark, said net lettings were positive for the 41st consecutive quarter.

During the period, Wihlborgs also completed its largest acquisition to date, valued at 2.43 billion kronor, and raised its dividend for the 19th consecutive year.

Wihlborgs noted higher activity in the Copenhagen lettings market, while in Sweden, market rents continue to rise despite a weaker economy, according to the company.
