Unilever on Tuesday set an early December timeline for the spinoff of its ice cream business, after the plan was delayed by the recent U.S. federal government shutdown.
The consumer goods giant said it now expects to complete the demerger of The Magnum Ice Cream Company on Dec. 6.
Shares in the new entity are expected to begin trading on the New York, London and Amsterdam stock exchanges on Dec. 8, the company said.
An associated consolidation of Unilever's own share capital, which shareholders approved in October, is slated for Dec. 9.
The company announced on Oct. 21 that its original timetable had been revised because the shutdown prevented the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from declaring the new company's registration statement effective for its U.S. listing.
Unilever said The Magnum Ice Cream Company is expected to publicly file its registration statement with the SEC on Tuesday.
The separation of the unit, which includes brands like Magnum and Cornetto, was first announced in March 2024.
