Coloplast interim Chief Executive Lars Rasmussen will step down from the company's board of directors, the latest leadership change at the Danish medical device maker as it implements a new strategy.

Rasmussen will not stand for re-election at the annual general meeting on Dec. 4, the company said Thursday.

He will continue to serve as interim CEO, a role he assumed in May after the departure of Kristian Villumsen, until a permanent successor is appointed.

Rasmussen previously served as Coloplast's CEO for a decade until 2018, when he became chairman of the board.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve this company for most of my life, and I have decided to step back from my board responsibilities at a time when the company is well positioned for the future,” Rasmussen said in a statement.

The company said its board will propose the election of Niels B. Christiansen as a new member, with the expectation that he will be appointed chair by December 2026 at the latest.

Jette Nygaard-Andersen will continue as interim chair.

The management shuffle follows the September launch of Coloplast's new five-year strategy, dubbed "Impact4," which tempered its long-term growth forecast.

The search for a new permanent CEO is progressing according to plan, the company said.
