Intertek Group said Monday it has acquired Envirolab, an Australian environmental testing company, as it seeks to expand in the growing sustainability and quality assurance market.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Envirolab, which provides testing for soil, water, air, and emerging contaminants, generated revenues of 28 million British Pounds in the financial year that ended in June 2025, Intertek said.
The company employs more than 200 people across five laboratories in Australia and New Zealand.
Intertek said the acquisition establishes it as a market leader in Australia's environmental testing sector, which is seeing rapid growth due to increased regulatory requirements and corporate sustainability commitments.
The global environmental testing market is valued at approximately US$20 billion, according to the company.
"Envirolab will provide Intertek with a high-quality environmental laboratory business in Australia, underpinned by deep technical expertise and a proven track record of growth and profitability," Intertek CEO André Lacroix said in a statement.
"We look forward to working with the Envirolab team to seize the truly exciting growth opportunities in the environmental testing industry and meet the heightened demand for comprehensive Risk-based Quality Assurance solutions."
