Finnish insurer Sampo announced a management overhaul on Wednesday as new Chief Executive Morten Thorsrud took the helm, a move that includes the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer.

Group CFO Knut Arne Alsaker has decided to resign and will leave the role on March 31, 2026, the company said in a statement.

Mr. Alsaker, who has been with the group for 25 years and was appointed CFO in 2019, will be succeeded by Lars Kufall Beck, currently the chief operating officer of Sampo's main subsidiary, If P&C.

The changes come as Sampo completes its strategic shift to focus purely on property-and-casualty insurance.

"The next chapter in Sampo’s development is focused on taking advantage of our cutting-edge operational capabilities to drive organic growth across the Nordics and UK," Mr. Thorsrud said.

"Our priorities are clear: continued execution of our strategy, strong underwriting performance and capital management discipline."

As part of the new structure, Sampo appointed Ricard Wennerklint as Deputy CEO and added two other executives, Poul Steffensen and Tiina Halmesmäki, to its top management team.

Mr. Thorsrud officially started as CEO on Wednesday, having previously led the If P&C insurance business.
