Swedbank unveils plan to achieve 15% return on equity

Swedbank on Wednesday outlined its "Swedbank 15/27" financial plan, targeting a sustainable return on equity of at least 15%.

The Swedish bank's President and CEO, Jens Henriksson, stated, "Our plan is to continue to deliver a sustainable return on equity of at least 15 per cent."

He added that profitability ensures resilience and long-term stability, especially amid geopolitical and economic uncertainties.

The strategy focuses on strengthening customer interactions, growing volumes, and increasing efficiency through new tools and technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Swedbank also aims for a cost-to-income ratio not above 0.4 and a CET1 buffer of 200 basis points, maintaining a dividend policy of 60 to 70 per cent.
