Danish engineering group FLSmidth & Co. said Wednesday it has won a contract to supply key equipment to a major new iron ore processing plant in India, marking the latest win since its strategic pivot to focus solely on the mining industry.

The order, from an unnamed Indian miner and steelmaker, is for what the company described as the world's largest filtered tailings system, a technology used to manage mine waste and improve water recovery.

It includes twenty-two large-scale horizontal belt filters and twelve high-rate thickeners, with delivery expected in 2026, according to a company statement.

This is the fourth consecutive order FLSmidth has received from the same customer in the past nine months for the facility.

Previous deals included grinding mills and flotation technology for the plant, which FLSmidth says is set to become one of the largest and most sustainable of its kind globally.

"Once all the FLS technologies are installed and operating, this plant will become one of the largest, most efficient and highest-grade iron ore beneficiation plants globally, supporting optimal profitability and providing tangible sustainability benefits in terms of energy and water reductions to the customers", said Julian Soles, Products Business Line President at FLSmidth.

The value of the order, which was booked in the third quarter, was not disclosed.

The contract comes as FLSmidth navigates what it expects to be a soft market for new equipment after divesting its cement business earlier this year to become a pure-play mining supplier.
