Swedish forest products company Holmen AB said a court ruling in its favor in a tax dispute will boost its third-quarter profit by about 400 million Swedish kronor.

The Administrative Court in Stockholm granted Holmen the right to tax deductions linked to losses from the company's discontinued operations in Spain, the company said on Friday.

Holmen stated that it had appealed an earlier decision by the Swedish Tax Agency, which had denied the deductions.

The judgment will become final in two months unless it is appealed, according to the company.

The one-time gain comes after the company reported a lower profit for the first half of 2025, which fell to 1.35 billion kronor from 1.49 billion kronor a year earlier, citing lower earnings from its renewable energy business.
