Computacenter PLC on Tuesday reported a slight rise in first-half adjusted operating profit, as a record performance in North America driven by demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure offset weakness in its European markets.

The British technology services provider said adjusted operating profit for the six months ended June 30 rose 1.2% to 82.1 million British Pounds, while revenue increased 28.5% to nearly 4 billion British Pounds.

The company's North American division saw adjusted operating profit nearly double to 49.1 million British Pounds, fueled by what the company called buoyant demand for AI-related infrastructure from large corporate and hyperscale customers.

This growth contrasted with a softer performance in Europe, where adjusted operating profit in Germany fell 19.2% due to lower public sector activity.

The company's Western Europe unit, which includes a weak French market, swung to an adjusted operating loss.

"Building on the strong momentum seen during the second half of 2024, North America delivered another record performance, with growth across all areas," Chief Executive Officer Mike Norris said.

Computacenter said it expects growth in adjusted operating profit for the full year, citing a healthy order backlog and a strong start to the third quarter.
