Mycronic's Global Technologies division has acquired U.S.-based Surfx Technologies, a firm providing atmospheric plasma surface treatment solutions in advanced packaging and semiconductor processing, the company said.

Surfx's unique vacuum-free technology enables cleaning and active oxide removal, ideal for inline electronics manufacturing.

The acquired firm, with 34 employees, projects net sales of USD 25-30 million for 2025.

Magnus Marthinsson, Senior Vice President of Global Technologies at Mycronic, said Surfx's solution is crucial for 3D semiconductor die stacking, a key AI-enabling technology, and strengthens Mycronic's semiconductor equipment.
