Skanska lands $612 million in new U.S. contracts
Swedish construction company Skanska AB has secured three new U.S. contracts this week with a combined value of $612 million.
The company said the value of all three projects will be included in its U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of 2025.
The latest award, announced Wednesday, is a $98 million contract amendment with the City of Redmond for the expansion of Redmond Municipal Airport in Oregon.
According to Skanska, the airport project includes a 7,400-square-meter concourse expansion and terminal renovation, adding new gates, jet bridges, retail, and concessions.
The company stated the expansion aims to accommodate capacity demands and improve energy efficiency, with work scheduled to run from June 2025 to January 2028.
The other contracts, announced Tuesday, include a $274 million deal with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to design and replace the Rourke Bridge in Lowell.
Skanska also secured a $240 million supplemental contract with Virginia Tech to construct a new College of Engineering building, which will house five departments and a large university-owned wind tunnel.
The bridge replacement is expected to be completed by February 2030, while the university facility is targeted for completion in the fall of 2028.
