Skanska Secures 1.7 Billion Norwegian Kroner Metro Station Contract in Oslo

Skanska has secured a contract worth 1.7 billion Norwegian Kroner (about 1.6 billion Swedish Kronor) to construct the new Skøyen metro station in Oslo, Norway, the company announced.

The project, which will be included in Skanska's second-quarter 2025 order bookings, involves building an underground station with two tracks and two access points, including a station hall approximately 45 meters below ground.

Construction will also encompass technical installations, outdoor areas, and additional works in nearby tunnels.

The new station aims to boost public transport capacity and connectivity in Oslo, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and reduced climate impact.

Construction is slated to begin in September 2025, with completion anticipated in 2029.
