Unilever on Thursday laid out the final steps for the separation of its ice cream business, which includes brands like Magnum and Cornetto, into a standalone company.
The consumer goods giant said in a filing it expects to complete the demerger on Nov. 8, with shares of the new entity, The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V., anticipated to begin trading on Nov. 10.
The new company will be incorporated and headquartered in the Netherlands, according to the company.
Unilever also proposed a consolidation of its share capital, which is intended to maintain comparability of its share price after the separation.
The share consolidation requires shareholder approval at a general meeting scheduled for Oct. 21, though the demerger itself does not, the company said.
The separation, first announced in March 2024, is part of Unilever's plan to become a more focused organization.
The ice cream division, which began operating as a standalone unit in July, saw underlying sales growth of 5.9% in the first half of 2025.
Unilever's board can still decide not to proceed with the demerger if it determines the move is no longer in the best interest of the company and its shareholders.
