Swedish technology company Mycronic AB said Monday it has received an order for three mask writers from an existing customer in Asia, valued at between $48 million and $52 million.
The order provides a boost to the company's Pattern Generators division, which reported no new system orders in the second quarter, contributing to a 37% drop in the company's overall order intake for that period.
The new order includes one Prexision 8 Evo and two Prexision Lite 8 Evo systems, which are used to produce photomasks for manufacturing electronic displays.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and conclude in the first quarter of 2027, the company said.
“We’re delighted to receive this significant order,” said Charlott Samuelsson, Senior Vice President of Pattern Generators at Mycronic.
“Thanks to our broad product portfolio and wide range of value-adding features, our customer can tailor a solution that meets both current requirements and future ambitions.”
In its most recent quarterly report, Mycronic noted that the Pattern Generators business is characterized by fluctuations over time.
Despite the earlier slump in orders for the division, the company recently raised its full-year sales forecast, citing a strong second quarter and recent acquisitions.
