Swedish medical imaging and cybersecurity company Sectra said its first-quarter order bookings more than doubled, fueled by success in its North American operations.
Contracted order bookings surged 112.9% to 1.31 billion Swedish Kronor for the three months ending in July, according to a company statement on Thursday.
Net sales for the period rose 5.8% to 765.9 million Swedish Kronor, while operating profit increased 19% to 118.8 million Swedish Kronor.
The company said growth in the U.S. and Canada was the primary driver, continuing a multi-year trend of expansion in the region.
"The fiscal year started with a favorable performance in both medical IT and cybersecurity," CEO Torbjörn Kronander said.
"Growth in North America was particularly notable."
The results also reflect Sectra's ongoing shift to service-based sales, with cloud recurring revenue climbing 46.1% from the year-earlier period.
Sectra said large contracts secured in the last fiscal year will be deployed over several years and are expected to have a limited financial impact in the current year.
