Swedish medical imaging and cybersecurity company Sectra AB reported a nearly 40% surge in contracted order bookings for its 2024/2025 fiscal year, driven by its ongoing shift to providing its software as a service.

The company on Thursday published its annual report, which follows its year-end results released in June showing sales rose 9.3% to 3.24 billion Swedish Kronor.

Comparable operating profit for the year ended in April increased 18.4% to 613.0 million Swedish Kronor, according to the company.

A key driver was the growth in its cloud-based offerings, with cloud recurring revenue increasing by 48.9% to 591.1 million Swedish Kronor.

"The past fiscal year can be summarized as follows: record-breaking order bookings, a continued positive trend for secure communications and progress in the transition to selling medical diagnostic imaging as a service," CEO Torbjörn Kronander said in the June report.

He also noted that in the short term, decreased license sales are expected to have a dampening effect on sales growth.

The board proposed an ordinary dividend of 1.10 Swedish Kronor per share and an extraordinary dividend of 1.00 Swedish Kronor per share.
