Vodafone said Wednesday it has completed the acquisition of Telekom Romania Mobile Communications' post-paid customer business, the latest move in a wider corporate restructuring at the British telecommunications company.

The deal, first announced in September, sees Vodafone's local unit acquire the post-paid customer base from seller Hellenic Telecommunications Organization for 30 million euros.

Another local operator, Digi Romania, has acquired the pre-paid business, according to the announcement.

Both companies will also gain additional spectrum and towers as part of the transaction, which Vodafone said strengthens its position in the country.

The acquisition is part of a significant overhaul under Chief Executive Margherita Della Valle, which has also included managing its debt portfolio and merging its U.K. operations with Three UK.

"This transaction strengthens our position in Romania, by increasing our local scale and unlocking significant synergy benefits," Ms. Della Valle said when the deal was announced.

"It supports our strategy of building strong positions in growing markets, which enables us to invest in the high-quality networks our customers rely on."
