JPMorgan Chase & Co. has increased its stake in Spectris to nearly 10% as the British industrial technology firm's takeover by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. moves toward completion.
According to a regulatory filing Tuesday, the U.S. bank's total position in the company rose to 9.62% as of Sept. 19, up from a previously disclosed holding of 9.16%.
The position consists of about 9.1% in direct voting rights and the remainder through financial instruments, the filing showed.
The stake-building comes as KKR finalizes its 4.15 billion British Pounds acquisition of Spectris, which followed a bidding war with rival private equity firm Advent International.
JPMorgan's investment banking arm, J.P. Morgan Cazenove, is acting as the sole financial adviser to KKR on the transaction.
The deal has received key regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the first quarter of 2026, according to Spectris.
