The project for The Norwegian University of Science and Technology involves constructing an 18,000-square-meter, six-story building to house its economics and innovation department.

According to the company, the new facility will provide modern workspaces and teaching facilities, and the contract also includes a bridge connecting it to the main campus.

Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2025 and is expected to be completed by December 2027.

The deal adds to Skanska's construction backlog, which has been bolstered by a series of recent contract wins, particularly in the U.S.

The win supports the company's core construction business, which reported improved margins in its most recent quarterly earnings report.

Skanska has a history of building educational facilities in Norway, with recent projects in Oslo and Bergen.
