Skanska wins $274 million contract to rebuild Rourke Bridge in Massachusetts

Skanska has signed a contract worth $274 million with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to design and replace the Rourke Bridge in Lowell, Massachusetts, the company announced.

The contract, valued at approximately 2.8 billion Swedish Kronor, will be included in Skanska's U.S. order bookings for the second quarter of 2025.

The project involves the complete removal of the existing temporary bridge and its replacement with a new permanent structure, along with roadway reconstruction, highway drainage, storm water management, traffic management, and upgrades to traffic signals and highway lighting.

Work is set to begin in May 2025 and is expected to be completed by February 2030, according to the company.
